Is the app free?

Yes. The live map, following trains and flights, first and last trains, service alerts, and earthquake alerts are free. A Premium subscription adds live departure boards, full station timetables, Live Activity, the complete events window, time travel, and Look Around.

Does it show live departures?

Yes. Open a station for a live board of arriving, waiting, and departing services, and the full weekday and weekend timetable for its lines.

Can I understand Japanese service alerts?

Yes. Alerts are translated on your device into the language your iPhone is set to, and the original text stays available.

Does it warn me about earthquakes?

Yes. Tokyo Glance can send a notification when an earthquake is reported, with the intensity near you.

Is there a Home Screen widget?

Yes, and it is free. Departure Glance shows your next trains on the Home Screen and Lock Screen; with Premium, a followed train also stays live in the Dynamic Island.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes. Tokyo Glance runs on iPhone and iPad and needs iOS 26 or iPadOS 26.

Does it show the Tokyo subway and Metro lines?

Yes. Tokyo Metro lines including Ginza, Marunouchi, and Tozai appear on the same live map as JR trains, Toei routes, and buses.

Is it useful for tourists visiting Tokyo?

Yes. Tokyo Glance shows nearby subway lines, JR trains, and buses as soon as you open the map. No setup needed on arrival.

Are all trains real-time?

Not all. The app clearly distinguishes live train positions from scheduled movement, so you always know whether timing is real or estimated.

Does it show public livestreams?
